Radiant Barrier
A radiant barrier is typically sprayed onto the inside of the attic in order to keep the sun's rays from making the attic feel like an oven. This helps keep the house cooler and saves energy. The coating is similar to aluminum foil and in addition to keeping the heat out in the summer time, it helps in the winter to keep warmth inside the home. Air conditioning costs will decrease 8%-15% with the addition of a radiant barrier. Heating costs will decrease 1%-5% with the radiant barrier.
