Meet the candidates, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversation about the issues affecting Texas and our community.
This event offers community members an opportunity to meet the candidates in person, hear their perspectives on issues affecting Texas and the Greater Houston community, ask questions, and participate in meaningful conversation ahead of the November 3, 2026 election.

Voter Registration Deadline
The deadline to register to vote or update your voter information is 5 PM on October 5, 2026 to be eligible to vote in the midterm elections.
First time voter registration must be done BY MAIL or IN PERSON. Updating your registration with a new legal name or new residential address can be done online.

Confirm your voter registration status using the Am I Registered?’ portal, which allows you to look up your voter registration record in the statewide voter registration database.
Update Your Registration: Texans who have recently changed their name or moved can easily update their voter registration online through Texas.gov. Click here to update your voter registration information online.
Mail-In Ballot Update: The United States Postal Service (USPS) has made adjustments to their transportation operations. As a result of those changes, some mailpieces will not be postmarked on the same day that the mailpiece is collected by a carrier or deposited at a Postal Service retail location. This may affect postmark dates for voter registration updates submitted by mail.
Voters can ensure that a postmark is applied to their voter registration application, and that the date on the postmark matches the date of mailing, by visiting a USPS retail location and requesting a manual (local) postmark at the retail counter when presenting their voter registration application. Manual postmarks are provided free of charge.
Submit your voter registration application as soon as possible to ensure the postmark date is on or before the required deadline.
Early Voting Begins

Each county in Texas is in charge of it’s own voting — this means hours may vary between polling locations and between counties. Check your polling location and hours here and verify by contacting your county election office.
We recommend early voting to skip the line and make sure you get to the polls.
Important: If you are in line before the scheduled end of your polling location “open hours” STAY IN LINE — you have a right to cast your ballot.
Early Voting Locations
Voting during the early voting period couldn’t be easier and more convenient! Registered and eligible voters may vote at ANY early voting location located in their county of residence. Whether you are at home, work or out running errands, you will be able to find a polling place near you. Early voting locations will be populated in our search site "My Voter Portal" two days prior to the first day of early voting. Here, you can enter your Name, County, Date of Birth and ZIP code to look up your registration information and find your nearest polling location. You may want to contact the Early Voting Clerk for State and County Elections in your county for early voting locations. Also, many newspapers publish early voting polling locations.
Note: Polling place hours vary at each early voting location.

What to Expect at the Polling Place
When you arrive at the polling place, you will be asked to present one of the seven (7) acceptable forms of photo identification, unless you are a voter with a permanent exemption on your voter registration certificate. If you do not possess a form of acceptable photo identification and you cannot reasonably obtain one, show a supporting form of identification to the election official and execute a Reasonable Impediment Declaration. The election official will ask if you have moved and then ask you to sign the list of people who have voted in the precinct. Depending on the type of election – local, statewide, national, or combination – you will be handed:
A paper ballot on which you will select your choices and which will be counted by hand;
A paper ballot on which you will select your choices by darkening an oval, completing an arrow, or “marking” with the aid of a voting machine; or
A slip of paper with a numerical access code or, in some counties, a ballot activator card. In the next available voting booth, enter your code or card and let the on-screen instructions guide you through the process of electronic voting.

This Independence Day celebration features a concert, vendors, and the largest fireworks display in the Hill Country, sponsored by Fischer's Mini Mart. Free admission, fireworks start approximately 9:45 PM.
Fredericksburg Fourth of July
Join Representative Vikki Goodwin for the Fourth of July Parade & Patriotic Program in Fredericksburg, Texas. RSVP here!
EVENT DETAILS:
The parade will begin lining up behind the Gillespie County Courthouse at 8:00 a.m. The parade proceeds east on Main Street to the intersection of Main and Washington Street. It will U-turn there and go west to Bowie Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or park a vehicle along the route to enjoy the parade. Following the Main Street Parade, join us at Marktplatz for a Patriotic Program and Concert by Bill Smallwood. Churches in Fredericksburg will participate in a celebratory bell ringing at noon.
